Safe Driver #2 MT is a smarter, safer way to drive turning work from the headstock. Designed as an alternative to traditional spur drives, it delivers consistent rotational force while allowing the workpiece to stop safely during a catch, reducing kickback and loss of control. The spring-loaded design eliminates the need to rely on tailstock pressure to control the drive, resulting in a more forgiving and controllable turning setup. Constructed of premium carbon steel, the Safe Driver is mounted on a #2 Morse Taper, it installs directly in the headstock for quick, secure engagement. The ring-shaped drive applies even pressure around the center point instead of aggressive teeth, helping maintain control without biting into the wood. Base-adjustable spring tension lets you fine-tune pressure for lighter cuts or heavier turning while allowing the workpiece to stop during a catch.
